OVERVIEW
Prompted by a desire to diversify operations, the YESHI
Group purchased the Universelle Industries SARL factory in
1998 from the Addas Group of Ghana for the production of
synthetic leather. Although located in Ivory Coast, its
Ghanaian origin kept Universelle Industries focused on West
African regional distribution.
HISTORY
Upon purchase of the Universelle Indurstrie SARL factory,
the YESHI Group immediately invested US$575,000 in
refurbishing the plant and its equipment. Structural and
operational modifications were made to facilitate a modern
production scheme and diversify the factory’s production
capability. Production of synthetic leather began in January
1999, and in 2002 the factory was equipped to handle the
manufacturing of aluminum sheets.
Actually it turned to the production of iron, of sheets,
wheelbarrows and of the assemblage of bikes.
